In advancing our mission, we have identified the strategic goal to establish an effective socio-ecological system and community model that is focused on providing compassionate, exemplary, and sustainable lifetime support for individuals experiencing developmental disability. To achieve this goal, 'Apoākea will engage in a number of projects directed at: 

​

  • Identifying and developing necessary services for affected individuals over the course of a lifetime;

​​

  • Identifying and developing gap areas of potential service that are often overlooked;    

 

  • Identifying and developing live-work-play communities/environments that are most conducive to lifestyle commonalities of affected individuals; 

​​

  • Providing workforce development for affected individuals;

 

  • Advocating for systems which will see the individual beyond the diagnosis and truly address their individual needs and interests.
