E Kū Kaʻū: Stand Up Kaʻū
ʻApoākea is dedicated to relief, recovery, and resilience in Kaʻū.
Historically, we have had a focus area in rural resilience with an emerging impact. In the aftermath of Hurrican Lala in August of 2026, we continue to be boots on the ground, in our community, putting resources directly into the hands of the most vulnerable residents of the district and impacted areas.
We would not be able to do this without the support of the community, generous donors, and our steadfast team.

Picking up and delivering hot food, non-perishable foods, nutritional drinks, hydration packets, and water straight to isloated kūpuna, disabled, and families in addition to the distribution hubs in Ocean View, Nāʻālehu, and Pāhala.
Personal Care
Picking up and delivering baby diapers, adult diapers, baby wipes, adult wipes, feminine hygiene products straight to isloated kūpuna, disabled, and families in addition to the distribution hubs in Ocean View, Nāʻālehu, and Pāhala.
Power
Picking up and delivering gas, generators, power banks, and batteries straight to isloated kūpuna, disabled, and families in addition to the distribution hubs in Ocean View, Nāʻālehu, and Pāhala.
